We decided at the August 2005 AGM to set up a cleaning rota for G-AWUZ to prolong the life of the paintwork for as long as possible and protect our investment.
The Aircraft needs a basic wash down and wax (car Wash and Wax solution) once a month, and a full wash down and polish with Autoglym every 3 months. The basic wash can be carried out by 2 people and should take about 2 hours, but the full wash and polish needs a team of 4 and may take a little longer. All cleaning equipment needed will be in the locker.
Please note: You need to bring your own ladders, buckets, cleaning cloths, scrubbing brushes (to shift the dead flies!) etc. We have nowhere at the airport where these items can safely be stored. You should find the polish and wax solutions in the locker. Please let Ian know if we are running low so the locker can be restocked.
I have sorted the group into 10 teams of 2 people alphabetically and set up a rota below.
- The member of the team whose name is in RED is responsible for booking the plane and coordinating the rest of the team to meet at the airport as close to the beginning of the month as possible.
- If bad weather stops play, rebook ASAP. The cleaning must be done sometime in the month
- If you cannot make it on the date given, it is your responsibility to find a replacement.
